What is the Herculine Geomembrane?

The Herculine Geomembrane is a smooth, high-quality, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane liner. It is made with resins specifically designed for geomembrane production.

Drexel University’s Geosynthetic Research Institute has an excellent overview of the different Geosynthetic materials available.

Why use a HDPE liner?

HDPE liners have a proven history of success in almost every geomembrane application. HDPE’s combination of physical properties, chemical resistance and long-term performance exceed the capabilities of any other material. All Herculine Geomembrane materials meet or exceed the material requirements of GRI GM-13. The US EPA, local, state and federal regulatory bodies have recommended the use of HDPE geomembranes for a broad variety of containment applications.

For what type of applications would the Herculine be particularly useful?

Herculine Geomembranes have demonstrated long-term performance as landfill liners and caps, mining, potable water containment, hazardous waste containment, sewage treatment, agricultural applications and more.

What are some benefits of the Herculine Geomembrane?

Herculine Geomembranes have a proven record as a premier HDPE material with successful installations. It is produced with resins designed to provide superior performance in physical properties, resistance to stress-cracking and long-term performance, in both exposed and buried applications.

How can I be assured there are no holes in the geomembrane?

To detect the presence of holes in the liner, an electronic spark (hole) detection system is installed on line. Every square inch of liner must pass through the spark detection device before it is wound onto a roll.
