Industrial
Applications:
· Primary and secondary containment
· Tank liners
· Decontamination and remediation pads
· Hazmat containment
Description:
Containment for industrial purposes requires careful design to ensure proper adherence to standards and regulations. Many industries require the use of geomembranes in order to check seepage into the surrounding environment.
Whether the liners are installed to contain hazardous or contaminated materials, or to serve as safety features for other containment uses, In-Line Plastics has provided optimal performance with our premium materials and expert training and installation.
Environmental Concerns:
Potential damages associated with leakages in chemical plants, oil & gas environments, landfills or waste water treatment plants are highly detrimental to the environment. Valuable groundwater resources are easily contaminated by hazardous leachates, creating long lasting environmental damage as well as health problems for nearby residents.
Primary and Secondary Containment:
Primary containment is where the geomembrane will be in permanent contact with the liquid, whether in a benign application such as water storage or a more complex industrial application such as heap leach pads.
The oil and gas industry is a primary application of secondary containment. Secondary containment involves HDPE geomembranes in environmental applications preventing seepage into the unprotected surrounding ground. State and federal environmental regulations require that provisions be made in the oil industry for containment of oils and hydrocarbons if the primary containment structures should rupture or leak. Spillage from daily operations is thus also contained without damage to the environment. Geomembrane linings placed under above-ground tanks or lined diked storage areas provide this required safety feature.
Hazmat Containment:
HDPE liners, both impervious and chemically resistant, are effective for hazardous waste containment situations. In-Line Plastics HDPE liner meets strict environmental regulations, but for certain hazardous applications
